How to Style Skirts for Summer

Most of us love jeans, but there’s something about summer and skirts that just makes sense. From rooftop drinks to picnics in the park to poolside gossip, everything you want to do during this hot weather season looks so much cuter in a skirt.

If you’re planning your summer outfits, we’ve got some ideas for how to style skirts that'll help you nail whatever aesthetic you’re going for:

  • Sporty skirt: That cute tennis skirt is making a comeback, and we love it. Try this sporty look with a flowy, button-down shirt for running errands, or a graphic tee, to add a more casual vibe to your outfit.
  • Denim skirt: Denim suits lots of looks, so there’s so much you can do. You can rock the mini skirt with a lightweight cardigan and get that timeless look, or opt for a trendier, longer hemline denim skirt with a lace cami.
  • Matching print sets: Matching sets have been stylish for so long now, that they’ve become as essential as your basic little black dress. Your wardrobe needs a matching set of shirts and skirts, from heavier fabrics like wool with youthful prints, to more lightweight fabrics in pastels.
  • Maxi skirt: We’ve seen a lot of it-girls rock this look recently, and we can’t get enough. If you want to emulate the effortless Olivia Rodrigo look, try slipping into a floral maxi skirt. They are really easy to style, with a fitted white top to make a contrast with the flowy skirt. Or if you’re looking for a warmer look, add a leather jacket or a blazer to elevate your outfit.
